As you move forward into fashion season, I wanted to raise a note that was brought to my attention by one of our clients. This client has used past iterations of Lyrek CEMS where imported columns that were blank did not overwrite existing information in the system.

As we moved forward with Lyrek this past year, this process had been changed. Clients were frustrated by the fact that when addresses were being imported over existing addresses.

Import
Don Citarella
123 Main Street
New York, NY 10011

Existing
Don Citarella
555 Smith Street
Apartment 4B
Barcelona 10321
Spain

They were ending up with something like this:

Final Record
Don Citarella
123 Main Street
Apartment 4B
New York, NY 10011
Spain

The red fields, obviously, are wrong.

As a result, all imports were changed to overwrite any existing data with the data from the import file EVEN IF THOSE FIELDS ARE BLANK.

With fashion season looming and 7th on Sixth lists sure to arrive shortly, please keep this in mind as you do your imports. You will need to remove your custom database fields and any other fields you want to KEEP that are in the existing data from your new import format.

Remove from Lyrek 7th on Sixth Import Format:
?   Media Type
?   Department
?   Source
?   etc.

If you import lists that have these columns, even if the data is blank, they will overwrite your data. Many users have already seen this change, read about it in the Lyrek Community Forums or discussed this during training and installation sessions. However, it?s our intent to keep our clients as savvy as possible so that no surprises arise to increase the already-crazed fashion season workload.

Let me know if you have any questions. Best of luck with Fashion Season!
